15/01/2008 : SCICON worldwide bvba welcomes Gunnar Ackx as associate in the company.  Together with Filip A. Vanhaeren, Gunnar Ackx will take on the daily management of SCICON worldwide bvba.

As previous & longtime colleague to Filip A. Vanhaeren, Gunnar Ackx can rely on over 15 years of experience in the field of coating-inspection & -consulting.  Although this experience is multi-facetted, Gunnar Ackx has taken a specific interest in the corrosion-protection of steel-structures: design, steel-finishing, evaluation of degrees of corrosivitiy, selection & design of coating-systems, surface preparation, coating- & lining-applications, cathodic protection, site-surveys, failure analysis & damage assessments, ...

In 1992, Gunnar Ackx won the annual V.O.M.-prize with his thesis titled "Optimisation of the pigment-combination of Zinc & Aluminium in a single-pack Polyurethane-primer" (V.O.M. = Belgian Association for surtace-treatment of materials, see www.vom.be).
In 1999, Gunnar Ackx was the first belgian inspector/consultant to return from the U.S. with the title of NACE Certified Coating Inspector (#5286), in the mean time the worldwide standard in the field of training & certificationn of coating-inspectors (see: www.nace.org).
Besides the daily management of SCICON worldwide bvba, together with associate Filip A. Vanhaeren, Gunnar Ackx provides customers with inspection-services, (pre-qualification)-audits, failure analysis & damage-assessments, technical assistance and also training.
